Shaquille O’Neal, famed not just for his basketball prowess but also for his philanthropic spirit, recently exhibited his kindness at a Best Buy in Lafayette, Louisiana. While inquiring about the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phone, O’Neal encountered Kquoella Lewis, who was at the store to purchase an iPad. Upon learning of her interest in the phone, Shaq surprised her by instructing the store employee to “Get two, one for me and one for her,” even though he generally favors Apple products.
This spontaneous act aligns with O’Neal’s track record of benevolence. Earlier this year, he stepped in to assist Eric Kilburn Jr., a 14-year-old facing challenges due to his size 23 feet. The Kilburn family initiated a GoFundMe campaign to secure custom shoes for Eric, whose current pair cost $1,500. Major footwear designers, including Under Armour, Puma, and CAT, responded, offering to design custom shoes. However, the most unexpected call came from NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal himself.
Having experienced similar struggles in his youth, Shaq’s team at Reebok designed five different pairs for Eric, accompanied by a heartfelt note expressing support. The gesture highlighted O’Neal’s commitment to making a positive impact on individuals facing challenges, showcasing his generosity both on and off the basketball court.
