A man once came through the drive-through and requested a decaf, but he asked us to double-check that it was decaf because he had terrible allergic responses to caffeine and could literally d.i.e from it. He explained everything, and we said we understood and would double-check that it was decaf.

I made the decaf and placed it on the handout counter by the window. My coworker, who was preparing coffee for the following order, also placed it on the handout counter. My manager took a coffee and was going to offer it around when a coworker interrupted, “Wait, that’s not decaf!” My manager asked, “So?” and handed it out nonetheless.
