Pat Colbert’s Legacy in Television

Pat Colbert, who passed away at 77, was known for her role as Dora Mae on Dallas. Joining in Season 7 (1983), she appeared in over 65 episodes until the show’s end in 1991. TV blogger Shaun Chang noted, “As the only African-American character who appeared more than once, Dora Mae never had a storyline… but she played the part with elegance and intelligence.”

Colbert began acting in Eischied (1979) and featured in Fall Guy and Capitol. She also appeared in Leonard Part 6 (1987) with Bill Cosby. After Dallas, she was seen in Sisters and True Colors (1991).

Personal Life and Early Roles

Born on January 16, 1947, in Los Angeles, Colbert appeared in Flamingo Road and A Death in California. She is survived by her son Michael and three siblings.
