The Republican-controlled Senate has confirmed Pam Bondi as attorney general in a 54-46 vote after a one-week delay requested by Senate Democrats. Bondi, a former Florida attorney general, pledged to restore confidence and integrity to the Department of Justice, vowing to eliminate partisanship and ensure equal justice. During her confirmation hearing, she clashed with Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff, who pressed her on whether she would oppose potential blanket pardons from President Trump, particularly for individuals convicted in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot.
